When is notification of posting workers to Austria required?
- an employer established in an EU or EEA Member State or in Switzerland
- posts one of their employees to perform work in Austria,
the employer is required to provide notification, i.e. submit a report.
Austria has no minimum posting period, below which notification would not be required.
Even a brief deployment of workers from another country is subject to notification.
Notice need not be given, however, of certain cross-border work activities involving few hours for a brief period.

User undertakings are also required to give notice when posting to Austria workers that were hired out to those undertakings in another country.
