What standards do accommodations for posted workers have to meet?
When a posting employer furnishes living space or space for overnight accommodation, the rooms must have:
- A window with an outdoor view
- Adequate lighting
- Free air volume of at least 10 m³ per worker
- Heating
- Adequately sized tables
- Seating facilities with a backrest for each worker
- Minimum height of 2.5 m
- Room, bedroom and one cabinet must be lockable
- Bed with bedding – no bunk beds
- Bedrooms used and accessed separately by persons of either gender
- Facilities for preparing and heating up meals and for refrigerating food and drink
- First aid supplies
- Suitable facilities for drying wet clothing
- Separate rooms for smokers and non-smokers, or smoking prohibited in rooms
- Showers, sinks and toilets
