Results of the latest round of negotiations
  • Increase of wages under the collective agreement in all categories by 3.0%
  • Increase of the allowance for long periods of employment in all categories from 2.20 to 5.30%
  • Favourability principle applied for keeping overpayments unchanged
  • Increase of apprenticeship pay and board allowances (Zehrgelder)
  • Christmas remuneration (Weihnachtsremuneration) is calculated on the basis of the increased pay level


Minimum wage / minimum salary
  • Simple tasks: from EUR 1,536.40 to EUR 1,725.11
  • Tasks requiring qualification: from EUR 1,840.34 to EUR 2,089.17


Apprenticeship pay
1st year of apprenticeship: EUR 780.10
2nd year of apprenticeship: EUR 1,000.00
3rd year of apprenticeship: EUR 1,329.40
4th year of apprenticeship: EUR 1,396.00


Supplements and allowances
Allowances related to long-term employment


Working time
The regular working time is 38.5 hours per week.
Supplement for extra hours: usually 50%, during specified times 100% or 150%.


Notice periods
For employers:
up to 6 months 1 week
more than 6 months 6 weeks
more than 2 years 8 weeks
more than 5 years 13 weeks
more than 15 years 17 weeks
more than 25 years 21 weeks
For employees:
up to 6 months 1 week
more than 6 months 4 weeks


Please note: Expiry of claims
Any claims arising from the employment relationship must be asserted within five months after they arose and/or became known, otherwise the claim expires.
